A US jury has found the original Oculus founders, Palmer Luckey and Brendan Iribe, used code and IP from ID Software (parent company ZeniMax), makers of Doom and Quake, to build the Rift VR headset and awarded damages of US$500 million.

Apple claims mega ARM chip maker Qualcomm “charges it at least five times more in payments that all the other cellular patent licensors we have agreements with combined". It also alleges extortion, so it is suing Qualcomm.

Microsoft is suing the US Government to protect its user’s privacy. This high-profile suit puts it in the driver’s seat as the plaintiff – not the defendant as was the case with FBI and Apple.
